World City Links has more than a decade of experience of delivering successful and exciting secondary school programmes, both for state schools and the independent sector.
Emphasis is placed on student engagement and activities between the students and full cultural engagement with the country they are visiting. Most of our programmes visit Beijing, which includes visiting a partner school. Teachers and students follow a special timetable including lessons in both English and Chinese.
World City Links works closely with the national and local authorities in each city, so that our students are welcomed into the partner school. Most students leave with a collection of e-mail addresses and other methods of communication to keep in touch with their new friends.
For many students this is a life changing event, opening their eyes and horizons to other cultures and developments in other countries. It is an essential part of a global education and has led on to students studying global business, Mandarin and international finance when they go to university.
For the schools, many parents value a global link and understand that sending their sons and daughters to a country like China is an important element of a modern broad education.
All of our programmes have a full health and safety assessment and teachers and students stay in a 5* hotel in the centre of Beijing. Students can walk to many of the world heritage sites and our staff encourage students to order their own food and engage as much as possible with the dynamic and exciting culture they are in.
